Mason + Karli: Romantic Rainy Day Wedding at Douglas Manor

Weddings

back

From the first moment we met Mason and Karli, we’ve been counting down the days until their wedding day. During their engagement session, they radiated love with every look, smile and touch, and we just knew that their wedding day was going to be incredible! And as the big day approached, even the threat of severe weather couldn’t dampen our excitement!

On Saturday morning, we turned on the news in our hotel room to see a line of strong storms filled with orange and red polygons pushing through Mississippi on its way towards Alabama. As we were loading everything into the car, we went under a Tornado Watch. Despite all of this, we never saw the smile leave Karli’s face. In fact, she even pushed up her schedule over two hours to get in as many pictures outside before the storms hit! She embraced the weather, and not once did she let it dim her spirit!

There were so many special details and precious moments throughout this day that we can’t even name them all, but we can list a few of our top favorites: the WWII jeep that the bride’s father and brother restored, the smile on Mason’s face when he saw his bride for the first time, the tears shed by Karli’s dad as he hugged his daughter during their first look, and the fireworks that lit up the night sky to celebrate the end of a fantastic day and the beginning of an amazing life for Karli and Mason.

Mason and Karli – We don’t have the words to express how thankful we are that you gave us the privilege of documenting your special day. We wish you both nothing but the best as you start your newest adventure. We know distance is never easy, and until you’re in each other’s arms full time, we hope these photos, no matter the physical distance between you, will place you there. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. McCabe!
