Where do we even begin with these two? The beginning is probably a good place. Katie and Kristen have been friends since high school. Ten years to be exact. A decade of friendship! We’ve known Jonathan since high school as well, although we didn’t get the chance to grow close with him until he and Kristen started dating in college several years later. Fast forward to April of 2017 – we had been working with Jonathan for months to surprise Kristen with the perfect proposal! She knew it was coming, she just had no idea when. Since the two loved doing Escape Rooms together (and because Kristen had already mentioned wanting to do one with a group of friends), Jonathan planned to disguise the ring as one of the clues inside the room. As soon as we entered the room, everyone (except Kristen) knew which box held the ring. Our objective: find the key that would unlock the box – and somehow make sure that Kristen was the one to find & unlock it! When the moment finally came, Kristen opened the box, Jonathan dropped onto one knee, and she said yes!
A little less than a year later they tied the knot in a gorgeous ceremony at the beautiful Rocky’s Lake Estate. Kristen looked stunning in her wedding dress, and even their sweet pups got dressed up for the occasion! Despite the rain, everything was perfect for their wedding day! Since Katie was also Kristen’s Matron of Honor, we could not have pulled the day off without TONS of help from Laura Anne Watson. She took a huge weight off of Katie’s shoulders by capturing all of the moments that Katie couldn’t and allowing her to still be fully present in Kristen’s day. Seriously Laura – we are SO appreciative of all your help!
Kristen and Jonathan – we are beyond thankful to be able to call you guys friends. It was one of the greatest pleasures and privileges of our life to be at your side on Saturday for the big day, and we are so excited for all the days to come.
